Localization is more than translation: localize product, payments, and legal too

Translating the UI is step one; real localization is a system spanning product, payments, channels, and legal.

Many equate localization with translating the UI, but what decides success is payment methods, content and habits, channels, and whether legal compliance is localized. Language is just the entry point.

The same feature may need different payments, different consent flows, or even different defaults across markets. Ignore these and the product is 'usable but unused'.

The pragmatic approach is a localization checklist across language, payments, channels, and legal, advanced together with the growth strategy — not a pre-launch translation task.
