Biometric consent frameworks: compliance points for fingerprints, voiceprints, and faces
Biometric data is unique and unchangeable, so its consent and retention rules are often especially strict.
Fingerprints, voiceprints, and faces are unique and irreplaceable; most jurisdictions require explicit, written, or verifiable consent before collection and cap retention.
Some jurisdictions also grant a private right of action, so non-compliance can be costly.
Make the consent flow a clear, revocable interaction, minimize collection, prefer local processing and de-identification, and set a clear deletion policy.
